While a Life Coach is not a clinician, psychiatrist, psychologist, or therapist, they rely on many of the same tools to act as a conduit to self-improvement for the clients they serve.
As in the case of other mental health professionals, Life Coaches typically employ Neural Linguistic Programming, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy tactics, and pointed, open-ended questions to help client self-discover limiting behaviors and beliefs and develop coping & decision-making skills for a happy life.
At Thrive the Matrix, we are also of the belief that there is great value in working with a Life Coach for a practical and highly effective approach for self-actualization.
Life Coaching is rooted heavily in involving the client on their journey of self-discovery and improvement through use of goal setting, brainstorming, practical application (practice), targeted modules, worksheets, meditations, mindfulness techniques, and other systematic approaches to changing and/or replacing current habits with healthier ones.
For those ready to get to work, a Life Coach is a great place to start. Given their affordability and the practical, results-based nature of the programs and services a Life Coach offers, Thrive the Matrix also believes that said services may sometimes mitigate or prevent the need for other forms of professional help, although this is not always the case and Thrive the Matrix respects and acknowledges the value in mental health professionals and the profound effect they can have in helping people thrive.
That said, we hope you’ll consider becoming a client. A Life Coach is also an excellent complement to other self-care efforts or as an alternative to those who recognize the need for change but are uncomfortable with the idea of therapy.
Given this, please take a moment to review the section below on the Ethics, Responsibilities, and Scope of a Life Coach. You can count on Andy Lynch and Thrive the Matrix to uphold these ethics and provide services that are in scope for a Life Coach.
